Description

This is my reimagining of the Fun Fun Holiday Bunting project for the Pretty in Patchwork Holiday Sew Along.

It will be a pillow for my son's room- he's the musician, and his room is usually a guest room when he's not here which is most of the time as he is away at Baylor School of Music- studying, among other things....Jazz.

The project is a cute one, but just a heads up that the dimensions/number of strips used for each letter are not correct in some instances- so it's a bit fiddly- I just used the 7 1/2 " guideline and adjusted the lengths where necessary, and in some instances it would list a number of blocks needed that didn't correspond to the diagrams of the letters- as in the white strips for the "J", but again it was just a case of looking at the diagram and working it out to fit; not a terrible problem but I expect they will want to do a correction page at some point.

I've got some HST's leftover from another project with this fabric, so the back will be a hodgepodge of the fabrics along with some linen.

Update 6/27 - Finished the Pillow- it may look a bit bumpy for now- I used two bath towels for the picture- will have to get a nice big bag of fluff this weekend and make a custom pillow form:)  I wound up doing a mostly solid back in brown linen, as the pieced back looked too complex and has actually been pressed into service as a runner- pics to come;)

This turned out great! I love how you incorporated musical instrument fabric into the project.

Mymble

Skynme Thanks! That musical instrument fabric is among my favorites - just about used up my last scraps for this project.

Wow. I love this!!!! How creative.

So cool! You have a very musical family! Did it come from you or your husband?

It seems there are a few corrections that need to be made in the Holiday Patchwork book astonished That;s too bad for beginners who wouldn't know how to correct them and might get very discouraged.

This turned out great! Love the story behind it too :)

Terryt1955 Thanks Terry...he'll get to see it next week...hope he likes:)...As for where they got it...well I guess a little from both and my hubby and I were actors, and they all grew up thinking being in the arts is normal...so that helped:)

I still love the book but you are right...it has some kinks that need to be worked out...so in a sense...threadbias has provided testers for the second edition!!!

Caribousmom Thanks Wendy:)
