Love your choice!!
Thanks True . I need practice on squaring up a block. I thought I had centered the ruler! All those lines are so confusing and distracting!
Ohhhh I have no 30's fabric. I have a dark pink text fabric and other stuff I was gonna use. It looks like you want these. Guess I need to go shopping. Oh darn
No No don't go shopping!! This was just a trial and by no means a suggestion. Go for the pink text, it sounds fun!
Ok will do. I have some that could maybe pass as them so I will see what blends with the text print. It is such a lovely fabric. I am going to use it as the color next to my kona white fabric
These look fabulous!!
just checking to see if my block arrived??
Sewbusy64 It did and I love it! I posted on the Newbee hive #4 but you might not see it since it doesn't alert us when we tag someone on a group thread.Love your fabric choices and it's very retro!!
They all look so nice together. Everyone made great fabric choices
I know, right! Wait til you are Queen, it's such a blast. Have you chosen your block yet?
Don't they look great? I love them!
All the blocks are looking so great together! I've now put granny squares on my to-do list after seeing your blocks!
Yes you definitely should! It's a great scrap buster or you can make it more planned out and make it a 3 color quilt. It's so versatile!
This is just beautiful! I love that you used the white to make the squares stand out. I am ashamed of myself. I was Feb queen for Hive 3 and still do not have my blocks put together. I did get in on my design wall a few days ago but can't decide how I want to set it all. Great quilt.
Gee. after looking at it again I realized that the blocks are set in white by the makers. They look great on your wall; can't wait to see what you do with them.
Yep, and I haven't even trimmed them down to the square shape. I just slapped them up on the wall and they still look great. I probably will set them in a white sashing to spread them out a bit. Or maybe I'll get daring and use something completely different!
Looking great. Going to be a wonderful looking quilt once you have both hives blocks together
They look so good together!!! Thanks for putting up a picture.
So much fun!!!! Love it, Terry! Are you going to do a label on the back with everyone's name?
Sew great together
Caribousmom Wow, I hadn't thought of that but what a great idea. I surely don't want to keep post its attached to the quilt!! LOL.
Sewbusy64 Isn't it great how they all compliment one another. I'll probably end up making some more and will try to balance out the red just a wee bit. Or use all the red ones for the front and use the others for the back? So many decisions!
I love these. I never really thought about doing a Granny Square quilt before, but I really love how yours is turning out, and it seems like such a good scrap buster (and I love a good scrap quilt).
Just follow the tutorial. They are referring to the finished size but it actually comes out 12.5" unfinished and will be the same size as all the others. No need to trim either!! You are so sweet for making this!
You are doing a great job putting our blocks together. Everyone has such complimentary colors. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Drnic2c Me too! Once I get the blocks from Hive #1 I'll be ready to turn this into a heirloom. So exciting!! And before you know it Jan. will be here and you'll get to experience being a Queen!
I totally missed you had them all up where have I been? I love them all together...wonderful! truly amazing how they all work so well together:-)
True , I need to hang up another design wall so I can start displaying the new beauties that have come in from Hive #1! It's so exciting!
Beautiful. Love the great granny squares
