I picked up some amazing fabric at my local fabric shop. It's a 2011 Alexander Henry print called "kitty garden". Since my local store isn't online yet, here's a place you can pick some up yourself - http://www.jandofabrics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=cat34728
I picked up 3 yards of the fabric, without being sure what I wanted to do with it. I also got a 1/2 yard of the coordinating Gerbers print
I don't have a pattern yet, but I'm thinking of making a simple knee-length dress with an elasticized waist, kimono sleeves, and bias finished hem and waist. I may have even found a downloadable pattern
that will work.
Made my first muslin. I'm glad I did. I made a medium so that it would fit at the hips. That was great. The top is just a bit big. Looks like I'll be doing some pattern adjustments.

So, I went downstairs and got to making changes and sewing. I super <3 my finished dress! Because my fashion fabric wasn't really wide enough, I made some changes to the skirt portion of the pattern, using a single panel and including the selvedge of the fabric, which was super adorable. I'd love to know what you think.
