Baby quilt for Froggie by Speattle
For my God-daughter's baby shower. We don't know baby's gender, but the colors in this quilt top reflect the nursery colors. Walls are painted the soft bluey-green and there is a lot of yellow and white chevron going on in the bedding.
I also added some dotted fabrics and some soft gray accents.
The back has the same yellow and gray, but with a little bit of red. I loved the letter blocks and mom works in the educational field so I think this will appeal to her too.
I hate making mitered corners with quilt binding, so I just rounded them and the bias binding I made from yardage wrapped around the curves quite nicely.
This is all machine done! I even stitched the binding on by machine using a wide triple zig-zag. Probably would not win any ribbons at the state fair for that, but for a baby quilt that is meant to be used, washed and dried it makes a durable finish and it looks just fine to me.
