Description

DS asked for a new denim quilt. I made his current denim quilt when he was in 6th grade. He's now 25 yo and 6' 6", so that first quilt is looking a bit small! It's made out of 6" denim squares that I cut up before we moved--I didn't want to move a bunch of old jeans so I made them into squares.

This is HUGE! Just his size! I used a queen size Hobbs Thermore batting and polar fleece backing. It got a blue ribbon at the Rock County Fair.

Congrats on the ribbon. I like the way you quilted it. Simple but really adds a lot to the quilt

HawkFan Thanks! I agonized over how to quilt it in bed at night. Then I put it on the machine, and the quilting just became very obvious! Did something totally different than I dreamed up in bed!

Between the denim and the fleece, I imagine this is Heavy! (Heavy, why do you keep saying Heavy, is there something wrong with the Earth's gravitational pull in the future?) I rarely do simple well myself so I am rather impressed by this. Congrats!

Scientificquilter Thanks!!! Yes, it's heavy. He likes heavy.

This is a really nice "old Jeans Quilt". Nice simple quilting pattern too. It will be used for many years to come. Great quilt and a ribbon too! Congrats!

Aizome

Charwirfs Thanks!!! Hope he loves it!
