Description

Before our new little granson, Finn, was even considered a possibility, I found this wonderful charm pack that I knew were my daughter-in-law's favorite colors. So of course, I had to buy some of Riley Blake's Mod Tod designed by Sheri Berri. I added some Minkie bright solids for texture and the backing is a white fleece for the cold winters.

Well, big brother Cameron and baby Finn are on their way to visit Nana and Poppa and I've been slow on the new baby quilt so I decided to make this wonderful carseat quilt from Moda Bake Shop.  It was designed by Jennie of Clover and Violet and can be tied to the carseat so that its not kicked off. It is so fun and easy that I am also making a second one for my grandchildren's new maternal cousin, Grayson who was born two months after Finn.  What fun for them all with four little boys running around!

Well, onto the quilting!!
I decided to use a white fleece door the backing since this little quilt will be used in the Colorado winters. Finn and big brother Cameron are visiting! The little quilt works great and Finn couldn't kick it off .

Carolmarie Thanks! I've been waiting for a reason to use these and it was one of those projects I can actually finish quickly smile !

Mymble

Wonderful- and the pops of orange are perfect!

I saw this on Moda Bake Shop and loved it! So you say it was quick and easy? I need to make one for our new grandson that will be making his way out around Thanksgiving. I think it's genius how they won't be able to kick it off!

Terryt1955

Oh yes, and I've had my eye on this line as well. Perfect for baby boys. It looks great!!

True

I love this both the fabric and idea...I looked at tutorial but can you explain exactly how you added the ties on?

Kathie

True I haven't reached that point yet as I'm still quilting (only 2 days to finish!) but it looks like after the quilt is made, the ties are added by sewing them on 10 inches from the top on the sides.
The tutorial takes a bit of re-reading and I don't think it's quite for a beginner as stated but if you've been quilting for awhile it goes very quickly.

I pinned this design some time ago but never pulled fabric to make it. Yours turned out great, and ditto what True said! Great photo prop for the cute boy.

Sewzalot

That is just the cutest little baby! He looks so cute all snuggly in his car-seat and that adorable quilt! Heartwarming!
