Description

A good friend of mine moved away to the coast last year. Being from the UK she moved into a lovely home with an English themed garden and cottage style kitchen.

I happened to have these fabrics in my stash waiting for a project - and this seemed like a perfect house warming gift. I made them smaller than traditional placemats as I wanted them to be used for snacks like "tea & toast" or "coffee & cookies".

I did a play on "thread painting" to make the flowers more interesting and then practised my free motion quilting techniques - overall I think this project turned out great!

These are so pretty and such a wonderful gift. Love your thread painting and fmq. I was drawn to them immediately and then when I saw them in more detail, I was amazed.
