Description

I play in a long-running tabletop RPG.  I started playing this game (affectionately called "You Die") back in 1995.  It ran continuously up until our GM had two little girls.  Now she's busy with them and running a LARP.

When my GM was pregnant with her second daughter, I went shopping for fabric for a quilt.  (Yes, I have a lot of fabric in my stash.  What's your point?)  I stumbled across this fabric that featured feudal Japanese children.  Knowing my GM (Melissa) loved all things Japanese, I knew I had my focus fabric!  I had a lot of fun fussy-cutting the center squares of this pattern so that each block had a little Japanese ninja at its center.

As I understand it, the ending -chan is used in Japanese to mean "little one," so this name of this quilt is roughly translated "cute little ninja."

Melissa loved it!
