Description

This top is from an online swap at the HGTV Quilting Forum several years ago.  We were to use blue centers, lights for the inner squares and darks for the outer squares.  I assembled the top right away and bought a brushed cotton print to use as backing as I wanted it to be sturdy and warm to use at my daughter's high school track meets.  Since then my daughter has graduated from college!

I think I'll go with the same plan since I still attend a track meet or football game here and there.

9/22: DONE!

This is by far the biggest top I've quilted at 60.5" by 72.5". It went pretty well but I definitely prefer doing the smaller ones. Next time I'll set up another table on the left side of my machine to help support the top.

What a great stadium quilt! And such a great swap idea too to get lots of variety. I use my ironing board on the left side of me to support the quilt since I can lower it to the sewing table's height.Makes a huge difference for reducing the"drag".

Terryt1955 Thank you! And thanks for the tip too... yes the ironing board would be a great option. I'm looking at options to recess my Juki I use for quilting into an IKEA table top later this fall and make my overall quilting surface bigger. Just one more thing on my list!
