Description

This is the Churn Dash block that +Nexxus831 requested for September. What an easy block to make! I did alter the tutorial very slightly - I cut the squares used to make the HSTs at 5", then trimmed the finished HSTs down to the required 4.5".  I used my June Tailor Perfect Half Square and Quarter Square ruler for trimming. I love that thing! All the red and white blocks will certainly make a very striking quilt for our Queen!

Gorgeous red and white fabric. I You tubed the ruler you used and I have to have one. Fantastic. Now to see if I can find it in the UK.

Your red fabric is darling!! What a wonderful addition to Nexxus831's quilt.

I did the same thing, starting with 5" squares and trimming down. I use the Bloc-Loc ruler and love it because it literally locks into the seam and doesn't slip when trimming. Great for those of us whose vision is blurred in the late hours. http://www.blocloc.com/ THey aren't cheap so I went with the 6.5" one and it meets all my needs big and small.

I got my June Tailor ruler on Amazon. I learned about it through the Aiming for Accuracy quiltalong that I'm currently doing, and I have to say it was worth every penny. It has slots to trim from 1.5 - 6.5" so it's very versatile.

P.S. Candice, let me know if you can't find it in the UK. I'd be happy to get it here and send it to you if needed.
