Laundry Hamper by Seeneed

I had this ugly fabric sorter for years just languishing away in my laundry room. It looked much like the one on the left but think cheaper and rattier from years of age and neglect. A year or two ago I saw this cool project where Moda had taken an antique round hamper and made a cool cover for it with a jelly roll. It gave me the idea to do something with my old hamper. Of course being the procrastinator that I am, it took me a while to get around to it. But about a month ago I noticed that my scrap storage was completely out of hand so I decided it was time to make the laundry sorter into a fabric sorter. I took off the ugly white nylon fabric and grabbed a large piece of Alexander Henry that I just had to have but of course it sat in my stash for about 3 years with no clue what to do with. After a false start or two, I figured out how to make the sorter but I added a fourth bin so I could have a section for yellow/green, blue/purple/ red/orange, and black/white/brown. It is a much easier way for me to get to my scraps cuz before all the colors were stuffed (and I mean STUFFED) into a 12" X12" storage bin. I'd have to dump the whole thing just to find the perfect scrap then try to stuff them all back in. What a mess. This is much more organized and the fabric makes me smile.
