Description

I wanted to do something simple with the beautiful fabrics from V and Co. and have been inspired by many gingham quilts that I've seen on Pinterest, Threadbias, etc. I played around with the ombre gray fabric to create a shadow-like effect on the quilt top. The white squares are cut from Bella White.

The back was pieced together with more V and Co. prints (I love that blue flower print!) and a little Kona Curry. I love a little bit of goldish-yellow to brighten up blues and grays, and put that in the binding as well.

The batting is a really nice blend of 50% organic cotton and 50% bamboo. It's very light and drapey.

I quilted 1/4" from all the seam lines with a lovely steely blue Aurifil thread.

Now this quilt is draped over my couch and hopefully will be curled up in a lot this winter!

Thanks so much, True . My husband looked at this quilt again today and noticed the ombre effect for the first time, and said it reminded him of a chart of the phases of the moon... the way it fades from the brightness of full moon to the dark of the new moon. Ha, I should have gone with that as my story for the quilt!
