Another Block Contest by Charwirfs
I really enjoy block contests, especially if it is a fundraiser for a group or a great cause. I love the challenge of fitting the theme to whatever is in my stash. Sometimes I have to buy a fat quarter but usually I can find what I need in my stuff. I posted the rules I got for this contest and a piece of fabric that had to be used in the block. This contest is for a quilt show in Aurora, Oregon that starts tomorrow, Oct. 11. There Are two things I like about this particular contest. The blocks are set and hand quilted at the museum and raffled at the next year's quilt show. Also, all the blocks are used in a hand quilted project and sold at museum events throughout the year. Sometimes enough blocks are entered to make three quilts. It has been a really hectic month as we have been moving two households from Olympia, WA to Jacksonville, OR so I was relieved to turn my block in today.
