Christmas trees by jansquilting
Tree's up! lights on!
October 2010: This was a quilt that Threads of Tradition had hanging in their shop. (this is the quilt shop at Sauder Village, Archbold Ohio). Not only were the fabrics they selected very beautiful, but the pattern itself is very interested. It looks like it might be paper pieced, but it's not. I haven't started cutting yet - but apparently you stack 6 fat quarters on top of each other. Then you trace the pattern onto freezer paper. Then you cut the whole stack at one time. You do that for all the fabrics. Then you mix and match the pieces - so you have scrappy looking christmas trees. My friend did a similiar pattern with sailboats and it is extremely cute.
January 2015: I took this project with me to my weekend quilt retreat. I had it precut before I went and finished it in 2 days. It could be made into practically any size, depending on how many and the size of borders that could be added.
