Description

I'm making a quilt using Swirly Girls "Perfect Ten" pattern.  I'm using an amazing Antique Camera print for the focal fabric, matching the rest of the quilt top fabric in black and white.  There is an accent fabric that borders the focal print, and I'm considering using a pop of color for that.  Help me decide.  What color do you like best?

**Update 10/15
Thanks for all of the opinions ladies. Between here and the rest of my social media, the main thing was that everyone seemed to think I needed a solid.  The only solid quilting cotton I had was black.  So, this will end up being an entirely black and white quilt.

**Update 10/28
I finally managed to be home when it was nice and sunny out so that I could take a few pictures of the whole quilt top outside. I hope you enjoy them.

I personally am a big fan of red, white, black and gray. The colors just go together so well! But with the black, white & grey being so neutral, you could go with another solid - do you have a favorite color? I've quilted some quilts where people used dark pink with these colors and that came out great. I think teal would go well, too.

I also like red with black/white/gray.

I love the red...it makes it pop but also a very rich color and pretty fabric. Love your camera fabric!

Carolmarie If you have any other ideas, I'm open to them. These were just fabrics in my stash that I think I have enough of.

It also probably depends on how much of a color variety you want to introduce. You can frame different blocks with different colors from the border if you want and that probably opens up the possibilities with your stash since you won't need as much. If you're looking for a single color then I'm partial to the red.

Red, white, and black is wonderful, but so many people choose that. Same thing with lime, white and black. I like the blue cause its pretty and different. A fun thing might be to use a rainbow of colors. My guild did a BOM one year of log cabins where one side was always black on white prints, but a different bright color each month. The finished quilts were gorgeous! Or you could limit the palette to say, blue-turquoise-lime or red-orange-yellow with the black and white.

I'm going to put in a pig for yellow!

Ugh...... Darn auto correct! It should be "plug", not "pig" in the previous post.
