Description

She wore this dress for 2 Christmases.   I believe this was a McCall's pattern, in the "Little Darlings" series they had back then.  It was quite ornate, with faux pearl trim, and gold edged lace on the blouse portion.

Well, I have just a LOVELY smile, don't I?

Or I could have put in the Santa photo of you in that dress. You know the one, where you have a death grip on Dad standing next to Santa? I know I have a pretty picture around here somewhere. I think in front of the Christmas tree.

Ahhh! Several mom and daughter teams around here.... eyes

Love it!!!!

Siffstitch

Okay, that's a much nicer smile. :)

And poor Julie is still naked.

Siffstitch

Tsk, tsk. If God had wanted us to run around naked, we would have been born that way.

Is that plaid a taffeta? Because I made a Christmas dress for my daughter that used a red plaid taffeta for the skirt with a white organdy bodice...with lace and pearl buttons! The sash made a huge bow when tied in the back. Must have been Christmas of 1981.

No, it is a cotton, or probably a cotton blend. It does have a thread of sparkly gold woven through it. I kind of went over the top with the trims and laces and bows when she was little. There is a ton of lace on this little dress.

I'm excited to see it on my granddaughter when she is big enough for it.
