Description

The top of this small quilt was complete well before the deadline for the challenge, but I am just now getting around to quilting it. One of my goals for 2013 was to work with half square triangles, and this was part of it. Backing is a gray on gray dot.

HawkFan

I'd say you definitely worked with HSTs! Love the bright colors in this. How are you going to quilt it?

Readerowl

HawkFan I'm working on spiral quilting, I did some practice on my first gumdrop pillow top, that turned into a mini quilt now on the wall of the sewing room.

True

What a great quilt...love fabrics and I agree you got some HST's I there. That was one of my goals for this year as well...I love when I achieve my goals!

Clairealex

Make it off center and you have won me over. :-) I really like the way you distributed the assigned fabrics and used the big stripe and zig zag pieces that baffled me. I think it invites circular quilting. Are you doing spiral fill or one big spiral?

Caribousmom

Oh, this one is awesome, Karen!!!! Great fabrics. Love it!

Readerowl

Clairealex I am doing one big spiral, using a varigated yellow thread. Of course the spiral is off center too, and I was glad to get to the edge at the upper left before running out of bobbin thread.

ArloDeanQuilts

Love the fabrics and design!

Readerowl

ArloDeanQuilts and all: The fabrics were free to me, except the white, backing and binding, so not muy choosing but fun to work with. I decided to bind in a solid Bella Marine.

Mymble

Really great- love it!

True

Amazing job quilting this one...WOW!!

Skynme

This is really pretty! I just love the colors and the quilting you chose.

Terryt1955

Your quilting is wonderful!! Perfect for this little quilt. You have been busy indeed!

Readerowl

Terryt1955 Mymble True Skynme - Thanks. It was fun, and I was glad it was a small quilt.

Mymble

Readerowl Ha Ha- yes, the circles could get dizzying I imagine...love seeing this again...oh boy could I steal this one:)....funny how Threadbias how brought out the Klepto in us!!!!

Aizome

Amazing quilting!!!

Terryt1955

Mymble LOL on the klepto tendencies!
Karen are you gifting this or is it for one of the grandkids?

Readerowl

Terryt1955 I'm sure I have some klepto tendencies! Too bad I don't live closer to some of you! This one was just because I could get in on the fabric at the Boise Modern Quilt Guild and wanted to try something like it. NO plans for what next - just to finish something. Of course, if a grandkid or parent of a grandkid loves it, how could I resist?

True

Readerowl this is just a great little quilt...love the polka dot backing!!

Readerowl

True thanks! it has been fun, and a chance to work on some skills. I always love dots.

Aizome

Really love all the photos of your quilt!!!!

Readerowl

Aizome The retirement complex where Dad lives has several nice garden areas that I love for photos.

Terryt1955

Beautiful finish and it shows off so nicely against that great bench at your dad's. I need one of those English benches!

HawkFan

Wow I love how this finished up and you've got it posed perfectly on that bench.

luxxia

This is gorgeous!

Clairealex

Love it. Quilting, backing and binding are perfect!

Clairealex
