Description

I wanted to make a new pincushion & threadcatcher before I attended retreat in early November.

I saw many shapes of pincushions and although I like my carrot pincushion, the narrow end was really not that useable due to the pincushion size.

I looked up a website that showed how to do the threadcatcher. A good tutorial that I mostly followed (with modifications) is from Merriment Designs.

And the pincushion I ended up making is a biscornu shape, which means offset. I realize that traditionally biscornu is done in embroidery or cross-stitch, but this is the same shape. Created with 2 equal sized 5 inch squares, offset by half a block before being sewn together.

I put a link to the YouTube video on how to make that offset pincushion, but couldn't make this project w/o help from both sites.
