BAby quilt for Anna Grace 2013 by Speattle
My youngest granddaughter is due to appear in the next 3 weeks! Last summer I found this fabric collection and knew it is what I wanted if the new baby were to be a girl, so I bought it just in case. Well, my gamble paid off and I got to use the fabric.
For a baby girl born during the Christmas and winter season, I think this is such a beautiful theme. It makes me happy just looking at the color combination.
Bonus: a few weeks ago my son and DIL were visiting for the last time before the baby is born. She happened to spot the then unsewn fabric in my sewing room and mentioned that she really liked it. I quickly removed it from her view and told her that I was actually very glad to hear she liked the fabric!
A few weeks ago I made a flannel nightie for this new baby's 3 year old cousin. I used a flannel sheet or the yardage and there is a LOT left. It was the perfect color and print to use to back the quilt. I used a high loft batting and only quilted on the seam lines. The quilt is soft and poufy, and oh so cuddly with the flannel backing.
