Oh I love this-it has a beautiful delicate look with those great fabrics- very wintery! Lucky recipient!
Love this!! It will make a wonderful pillow. What a nice gift
Ca you hear me saying "Ahhh" from California? I do't know what I like better, the fabulous striped border or the great fabric you chose for the trees! And I was just looking at the trunk wondering why you weren't so keen on it then read your Project Page and saw you had replaced the original one.
Mymble I love these fabrics...and have another from collection I hope to use on back! Thank you.
Just checked out Tessa's Ornament Pillow http://thesewingchick.blogspot.com/ and it IS adorable! Oh why do I have to work when there are so many things I want to make! On a good note my finger is quickly healing and no longer bleeding onto the fabric so it looks like tonight might be magical....
LOVE this one, Mary - your fabric choices are awesome!!! And love the tree trunk :)
So adorable! I am so looking forward to making pillows this year. I always admire them... I need some... now I MUST make some. The PillowPop sew a long will help me get started - can't wait!
This is sew cute. Love how the boarder matches the top of your tree. Thanks for the tutorial
I like the dark gray for the binding. It draws your eye towards the center of that lovely tree. The backing material is so pretty. By any chance did Valorie Wells make that great Elephant fabric you used on your quilt?
This is amazing - I love it :)
Terryt1955 you are so smart...yes she did. I love this fabric butit is hard to use as it is such big prints...would make an awesome backing fabric. Thanks for comment on gray I have been debating it in my dreams all night! I just do not have anything else I really like with it.
The grey turned out great for the binding? What size pillow form are you using? I think you could go up the next size to fill that baby out.
Terryt1955 Thanks...it is the type of form I bought that is issue...it is 16 x 16" but poofier than what I have been using and so seems smaller. Next size up is too big for cover...but when I get a chance I am going to go to Joann's and buy the brand I have used for some others and hope it fills it better. I got this one via Amazon awhile ago, and had it in closet so used it, but do not like it as well for this exact reason. Same issue with one I got from Amazon for my nephew's pillow but less obvious and think with use will fill it out better. Live and learn!
I had the same issue with a pillow form I got from Amazon. I thought I had just ordered the wrong thing. Now I know not to order from them again. Love seeing all the closeups of this pillow - I absolutely love it!
HawkFan thank you...I usually love Amazon things (I am addicted) but clearly the make of this pillow is not what I like! I was comparing it to my 18" form and it really is a different shape (if that makes any sense)
Mary this is one of my favorite pillows EVER! I love it! The back is so great...well, everything is great about it. Perfect colors, great pattern...really awesome. I'm trying to think of more adjectives! LOL!
Great finish Mary!
Terryt1955 See if you like the new forms better:-) And HawkFan when I compared the pillow form I had gotten from Amazon and the one I picked up today the first one looked considerably smaller! I am going to try making a pillow cover just 16" total for the two I have and see if that works and not order again! Thanks Mymble you all give me confidence the recipient will like these as well:-)
Mary, this is such a great pillow!! You are inspiring me!! To chime in on the pillow form conversation, I really prefer feather inserts because they make for a nice poofy pillow. If I need to make a form, I also use the Cluster Stuff that Carol uses. It reshapes nicely.
Thesewingchick thank you so much!! Given all the inspiration you give me I am glad to be able to give some back!
The new form is better! I also curious about this Cluster Stuff and wonder if they make a little muslin cover to contain the stuff??
