Description

I've eyed the original Ghastlies line for a long time and recently decided what to make with it after seeing it used in a quilt made by Marieke on flickr using Jaybird Quilts Taffy pattern. The only problem is I can only find the fabric online and do not know how much to get in order to showcase each character.

Ok so if you add 1/4 inch seam allowance, each block will be 12.5 inches square. With 3 squares across you would need 37.5". Since the fabric will be wider than that you should be fine. Now for the length of fabric. If you were able to stack the squares on top of each other 1 1/2 yards would work, but you can not count on being able to do that when you are fussy cutting.
My suggestion would be to buy 2 to 2 1/2 yards. That way you shoud be able to get all of the images you want. Plus it is a cute fabric to have some left over.
I hope that makes sense!

Thanks! I went and ordered 2 1/2 yards. :)

Love the design. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. I love the Ghastlies too!

OMG love this quilt. I've been a Ghastlies fan since I first saw the fabric and recently finished a quilt top using one of the later lines. But the pattern you used rocks. It is perfect for this fabric. The blocks are big enough to see the fabric and the pattern is great movement. Excellent job.
