Description

Baby quilt from Bluebird Park by Kate & Birdie paper Co. for Moda. I needed to get this done asap , and the mom's nursery colors are yellow, white and grey...so this seemed the perfect fit...and I adore this fabric...the hand is so silky smooth.

Updare 11/10/13 Finis- Faux Bois for the binding- one of my new favorite binding fabrics- the wood grain works so well with all the adorable prints of woodland creatures. I should probably lay in a bolt of it as I am so partial to adorable woodland creatures of just about any kind.   Used the machine binding tutorial by Rita from redpepperquilts and it worked beautifully- no gaps.

Mymble

HawkFan Thanks Audrey- oh don't I understand that- I broke down and bought another charm pack and a very wee bundle of it ...trying very hard not to do that too much but this fabric was just too hard to resist:)))

Terryt1955

A lovely baby quilt. You are Mrs Elf right now!

Mymble

Terryt1955 Ha ha Terry- sounds good to me- just finished the binding and will post the finish tomorrow- I used Rita's ( of Red Pepper Quilts ) tutorial for machine binding and no gaps- yay!

True

Mymble great finish I do almost all of my bindings by machine now and love it!

Mymble

True Thanks Mary- yes- I really love it now- I used to use another technique and just didn't like the way it looked- but now with Rita's everything went well- twice now, and I found that using my stitch in the ditch foot helps too- never bothered with it because I just thought it was unnecessary- not so- has made everything so much easier:)..and might as well give some credit to Wonder clips while I'm at it- what did I do before them????

Periblue2

I love this collection and am delighted to see it in a quilt. Great job!

Mymble

Periblue2 Thank you so much- I love this fabric as well- it was a delight to work with- has a beautiful hand and sews really well- no fraying edges:)
