Description

Finished and mailed it off the day after baby was born! Anxious to have it arrive, never worried so much about mailing something before!

There's just something about making a baby quilt - knowing it will keep a sweet little human warm makes it extra special! I'm making this for my cousin's first child, a boy due in January. I took extra long picking out a pattern out of probably hundreds that I pinned to a special board for this project. Once I picked the pattern, I made a mockup in Photoshop, pulling from the nursery colors, a light teal and grey, and a fabric that my cousin liked.

After carefully weighing everyone's advice and staring at the quilt forever, I did the opposite of what everyone advised. Oops! I decided that as much as grouping values added to the definition, having all the whites together looked too washed out next to the background fabric. Hope people still like this version! On to the back!

I'd go with variation 2. The different fabrics still look scrappy, but I like the definition of the design that grouping them by color/value provides.

Capetowngirl

I love both but the one with the definition of the chevrons looks better.

Caribousmom

I like them both - but I do think Variation 2 has more focus. It really is personal preference :) I know that doesn't help!

True

Ditto everyone else like them both and these are awesome fabrics. If it was my quilt I would go with Variation 2 as it just has more of the look I like. Good luck!

Love your display of fabrics and the pattern. I'm sure I would love either option, but would probably pick #2 if it were me.

HawkFan

I'm with everyone else. Both are nice but I like 2 as well.

Sblprl1

I like # 2 better.

Tenar

Variation 2. By the way, you know that it's not safe for babies to sleep under quilts, right?

Drnic2c

Version #2 caught my eye.

Looks great! Love your choices thumbsup

It looks lovely and glad you went with your choice instead of going with the flow. You'll like it better that way
