Description

I had such a good time making this pile of pin cushions using Camille Roskelley's Playful Piecing pattern from Craftsy. I gifted these to some of my sewing friends...choosing fabrics I thought they would each enjoy!

Oh and yes they DID enjoy!! That blue and red front was the perfect call! You did such a great job pairing up fabrics for the front and back. And they all look so dang cute piled up together.

Conniharns Ah that is nice to be able to take some time out and have a nice lunch together. Your little owls are adorable!

Quilt455

Yup, I love mine, you of course pick the perfect fabric for me. I also love Conni's, Terry's and the other one. Not sure that person got hers so not saying name. Wendy, what a wonderful gift. I guess it just means so much that you took the time to make them for us. you are the bomb! Enjoyed lunch with you and Conni today and can't wait to do it again and our next sewing day.

I love mine!!! And it made my day... Just love the fabric and thanks for letting me see essex linen up close and personal (my order should arrive soon:-) I love the picture of them all piled:-)

That owl fabric is adorable what is it? And what did you stuff them with as I love the weight of it... what a lovely surprise.

Caribousmom

HawkFan and Readerowl Thank you! Very fun to make!

Quilt455 and Conniharns I loved our lunch today - always great when we take the time out of our busy days to get together (can't wait for January 4th!!!)...and so glad you like your pincushions!

Caribousmom

True Glad it made you happy, Mary! That owl fabric is by Alexander Henry - it is an older line and I bought a TON of it quite some time back (in three different colorways). It is one of my favorite fabrics :) I stuffed these with crushed walnut shells - which is my first choice for pin cushions as I like the density and weight (and it sharpens your pins too!)

True Hawthorne threads still carry that owl fabric - they have blue, gray and natural color ways. Here is the link:

Thank Goodness Mary got hers too now I can just blab all I want. Hey Miss Wendy, what is the fabric in the background? Mary, isn't that linen the best; I ordered some after Wendy showed me it on our last sewing day. Haven't sewn with it yet but I know I am going to love it.
Wendy, made some little gift bags last night on my new sewing machine and yes, I have a new love in my life! I can not believe how nice it is.....I feel like I have made it to the big times and its christmas morning again and again. So glad I decided on this one.
