Description

This is my oldest UFO. The second quilt top I ever made, I was just randomly making 9 patches, and then I figured out what size 4 patches I needed to make to complete the design. The following National Quilting day 2010 I made the fans in the middle, and then I wanted to make corner fans in the corner, but decided to split them, which reminded me of bow ties.

I took the red design back into the border.  I always wanted a lot of quilting for this quilt. I have some dark black lace that will cover the top of the offset fans.I found the lace sometime in the last 2 years.

After getting my vintage machine, I decided to finally decide to actually quilt this thing that has been sitting untouched for several years.  I am currently working on free motion quilting this quilt, going with random abandon (aka no plan) to make the quilt. Once the whole thing has been free motion quilted, I will post updated pictures of the whole thing.

So glad to find this quilt is finished. I did machine binding for the 2nd time, and there is lace & some type of ribbon as the actual bows.

The lace has an amazing impact on the overall quilt- as always I am awed by your brain. Thanks for sharing.
