Description

I love Fat Quarter Shop's SHortcut quilt ideas,  so I had to make a Layer Cake Lemonade to go with my 3 Jelly Roll Jams...

I bought a layer cake of Lush Uptown to make it with, though after opening it, I don't think it was the "best" choice for this pattern as there is a limited variety of prints in the collection.

The pattern itself was easy to put together, but I had a lot of issues after the fact. Apparently my machine does not like spray baste so I had a lot of skipped stitches, when I was just doing straight, organic lines.

Ended up giving it to my husband, as his favourite colour is orange!

Cute pattern. Using a new product can be risky, but the orange is forgiving. Will you use spray baste again?

True

This is cute...hoping you have finally found solution to stitching woes!

Mymble

Looks great- and it does seem like a perfect hubby quilt- all that woodgrain- hope your spray basting issues are resolved;)

Charwirfs I have most of a can left, so I'll at least use it gaain to use up the can. I do want to experiment to see how it works best as just quilting a cushion with pins in it drove me nuts to stop and start to take them all out, and I love howI can zippity zip all over a top without stopping with spray baste!

Mymble , True me too!! I'm also wondering if it's the brand of spray that makes a difference as well!

Carolmarie the fabric is Lush Uptown by Erin Michael. Oh Deer is a lot more colourful in brighter colours... which reminds me I need to finish my quilt with that fabric too!!!!

Carolmarie I have some here: https://www.threadbias.com/projects/yes-deer

I have all the parts shoved into a ziploc bag right now and I think they're still covered in cat fur! I can't believe it's been almost a year since I started it?!

Carolmarie Well it has been awhile! I'll have to put it back on my to-do list. I'm going to have to cut the sashing strips again as the original ones have frayed quite a bit and are so tangled up! :(

What gorgeous fabrics! It turned out wonderfully even though your machine was having problems.
