Description

Two girls that are past students of mine came to my house earlier this month and helped me bake cookies for my Preschool Christmas Bake Sale.  They had so much fun they wondered if they could come back some time.  I invited them back and told them they were going to make aprons.  Their faces lit up when they saw the fabric and sewing machine.  They had a great time learning how to sew, making homemade pizza and playing with my little cat Rusty.  One of the girls just didn't feel her apron was complete without pockets.  So we added pockets with rick-rack just like she wanted.  When it was time to go home they were already brainstorming ideas for "next time".  What a wonderful day...I can't believe they finished their aprons in one day!

That sounds like the most wonderful day. Isn't it fun to teach someone who is excited about learning to sew?

What pattern or tutorial did you use?

What a great story. You must have been one great teacher to have them still coming back and visiting. Great pictures of them!

Speattle Terryt1955 I used part of the Simplicity 2272 view c pattern but simplified it. I was afraid the whole view c would be too hard for their first time. The pockets she came up with on her own. Sure love these girls! I had as much fun as they did.
