Description

I wanted to make this pillow for Christmas as soon as I saw the pattern on Craftsy but they had ongoing issues with their site accepting (some) credit cards and despite trying for a week (@ 10 times) I gave up.  BUT I wrote a comment to designer as I wanted her to know someone wanted to buy her pattern and could not.  Right before Christmas I got a response from her and she offered it to me for free due to inconveince!  I was so excited.  So Christmas Eve day I had some quiet, alone time (amazing I know) so I did the fusible applique part and will finish it up for next year!  I think he is so cute.

Update 1-18-14 Done!  I made the back so whomever I give this to could choose to keep pillow out longer (like for Valentine's Day) or all year if worked for them.  I love this pattern and the fabric I found was perfect.  Got enough to make a table runner for a gift next year.  This was so much fun to make.

Caribousmom

Sewhappy

He is so cute! I love the star in his pocket!

True

Sewhappy Caribousmom ;-) I love that star as well!

HawkFan

He is so cute and it looks like there are some delicate pieces you had to cut. Very nice job! You know if you're looking for a good home for him I know of a great place in Iowa...

True

HawkFan you never know where he will end up;-) It was really easy to cut out...I have some special scissors I use for this kind of thing and they make it so simple.

Siffstitch

The fabric for the beard is PERFECT!

Joke

I love him!!! Look at his jolly skipping legs!! I don't think I've ever seen such an energetic Santa ;) how nice you were sent the pattern for free! Crafters are so nice :)

Juline

I love this whimsical style!

True

Siffstitch I thought it worked well thank you

True

Joke I so agree! She was lovely...I think she may be a fellow Aussie!

True

Juline me too... I was so bummed when could not initially get it as I feel in love!

Mymble

I love this- so so fun-and the fabrics you are using are wonderful.

True

Mymble thank you...I got some charm packs at one of Green Fairy's sales and reds were part of it....loved how they worked. Plan to use other fabrics from it for border and backing!

ArloDeanQuilts

Adorable!

True

ArloDeanQuilts thanks...

cally68

Adorable!

True

cally68 thank you, and Carolmarie this is raw edge appliqué and I enjoy appliqué whenever I have done it... Not sure would want to do a huge project but small ones are a lot of fun. This one in particular I loved doing.

Kat

How fun! Your pillow is adorable!

HawkFan

Gorgeous back!!

Caribousmom

This is SO cute, Mary. And I love how you made the back so you can flip it over and keep using it through the winter months. A bright, fun, cheerful pillow! Awesome!

True

Kat thank you...

True

HawkFan so does it go ok in your house;-)? Thanks!

True

Caribousmom thank you... I knew those charm packs I got on sale would come in handy! This really was so fun and the midwinter reds collection has some great fabric!

Mymble

Super finish...I just love everything about it Mary...and making the back as you did...brilliant!

True

Mymble thank you so much... I started on back last night and did not like what I had pulled even though "went" with fabrics. So slept on it and woke up with a plan! And I like it a lot better than where I was last night. Have to say if I have learned anything in last few years it is not to force things...walk away and give it a chance to come together:)

HawkFan

Yep got a spot all picked out for it ;-)

Skynme

I still think this is just too cute! Love what you did with it.

True

HawkFan ;-)

True

Skynme thank you...

Conniharns

True...this is just THE cutest!!l. Love the whimsical design and the great fabric choices you made. So adorable.

HawkFan

True I've almost got your chevron quilt finished ;-)

Terryt1955

Don't know how I missed this little cutie! Love the deeper reds against the tan background. It really shows off St Nick! Is the background fabric from the same line? Somehow I missed it when I was buying from this line or I would have stocked up on it. What great neutral fabric!
And what are these special scissors you were referring to? I know I couldn't cut out such fine delicate pieces with the ones I have!

True

Conniharns thank you!! I just think he is so cute and the fact it was fun makes it all the better!!

True

HawkFan about time...I need a new quilt!

True

Terryt1955 thank you! The back ground is not from same collection. I bought a bunch of neutrals/tan fabric on sale a little while ago just to have on hand and it came from that bunch. I do not have name or would give it to you. When I do a table runner I bought the cream polka dot from this collection to use. I will try to find scissors I use online and post...

True

Terryt1955 I cannot find the ones I have but know I got them at Joann's @6 years ago and think they were for scrap booking. Since I have never done that hobby someone must have suggested them to me. These are similar http://www.joann.com/fiskars-softouch-micro-tip-scissors/2471332.html

Sbbquilter

He is wonderful - thanks for sharing.

True

Sbbquilter thank you so much!

Damnskippy

I love happy, jumping Christmas images and this one is adorable. You did a fabulous job and the colors are fantastic.

Terryt1955

Thanks True for the link. I have pinned them for the next time I go to Joann's. I've seen them plenty of times but didn't know it they worked or not.You know, all these new fandangled things can be great or just a gimmick!

True

Damnskippy thank you. And I so agree on love jumping images!

True

Terryt1955 I so agree...it is so hard to know what helps and what is just useless. Again these are different than mine but mine rock!

Terryt1955

True , can you take a picture of yours sometime. I'm wondering if yours are the ones that my LQS carries. They weren't a Fiskar brand but they worked on the same principal.

True

Terryt1955 LOL great minds...I just emailed you that I would take a picture and send it to you!

True

Terryt1955 just sent to you and in process found name and here they are http://www.amazon.com/Studios-2-Inch-Kushgrip-Spring-Cut-Scissors/dp/B000YZ7NYM
