It is gorgeous...what do you mean I am there I had part of Wendy's subway for lunch and we are having stew for dinner;-)
Love the textures of your fabrics! Beautiful block!!I can't wait to see these all together.
Cathie your block looks beautiful!! And True how did you know what we were eating??! I wanted to fill up my Rubbermaid container with Wendy's Beef Stew....but I thought I should leave it for her adorable hubby!!!
Another beautiful block for Carol! Great choice of fabric Cathy!! Sorry you had a struggle with it but glad you had a fun sewing day with the gang.
True , had I known you were going to be there I would have cancelled washing my hair and come and joined you all!
Carol's blocks are popping up so fast, I can't keep track. This one is beautiful too.
Great block- love the fabrics you used!
True I got so confused yesterday and you were so quiet, forgot you joined us. Gee, wish you did have to go home so soon. Thanks
Conniharns Thank you. I was so fun doing the blocks together yesterday. I think our sewing days is what keeps my sane the rest of the time. But please remember your very large tote bag and Tupperware next time.
Terryt1955 thank you. Can you imagine the five of us in the same room. Not sure how much sewing would get done at all! Wendy said you might be coming up, can't wait to see you!!!
Readerowl Thank you. My goal is to get all my blocks done early in the month so there is no stressing.
Carolmarie , I won't be mailing my block today on the off chance I'll be making a 2nd one. My "houseguests" will be decreasing by 2 on Wednesday which means time to clear away the Christmas decorations and set up all my sewing equipment!
I really like your bit of black in your block! So pretty!
Thanks Mary. when we lived at our old house, we had 2 large plum trees and I made plum jelly every year along with peach jelly from our peach tree. Yummy
LOVE your block, Cathie!!!! And love the interpretation of plums on the ground - very cool! I'm sure Margaret will love this one!
Cathie I adore my plum tree ...it is so great...I love all the touches-beautiful fabric choices... the plums on the ground!!!!...and I do love plums...now all I need is a plum jelly recipe:)
What a great interpretation. Love your tree
Great block Quilt455 ! Such great fabric choices for a plum tree. And you did it before Monday. Yay!
Caribousmom Thank you. Thanks to you I am finally starting to think outside the box. I loved making this block.
Carolmarie Thank you. I just love these blocks and think Margaret picked a winner. I can't wait to see the finish quilt. Knowing her, it will be outstanding.
Mymble I am so happy you like it. It was such a fun block to make. Took me a while to get it all together but I am glad I did the one I did. It will be in the mail at lunch time tomorrow.
Terryt1955 Thanks. Yes, I got it done and it will be in the mail at lunch tomorrow. Hey, you will be here soon. I am so looking forward to our sewing day/evening. I so truly need it.
Love your tree, very pretty!
I've been thinking abut you and am sure you need a break! See you soon. What kind of dessert do you want?
Cathie this block is adorable!! You and the little plums! Glad you got it done so you can start to chill a little! and Terryt....CHOCOLATE!!! Can't wait!
Terryt1955 Well let me see.....CHOCOLATE works for me and I guess Conni too. But you can surprise us.
Well of course CHOCOLATE, that goes without saying! Hmmm, now what kind of chocolate.......or rather what shall I turn it into.....
Terryt1955 I made Nutella Cheesecake trifles for my book club this week - you start with a pan of brownies...
Terryt1955 and True Here's the link for it. It's so easy to make. Was a big hit with book club! http://www.mybakingaddiction.com/nutella-cheesecake-trifles/
That does look good. I'll have to try it out on my co-workers. They hate me because I keep breaking their diet regimes. Hey, I'm not shoving it down their throats....
HawkFan thank you...I never eat Nutella, no clue why, but bought some for my mom while she was here so this would be a great use for it!!
True I have to say I think I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't care for Nutella but I knew this would be a hit with book club. My daughter will eat the rest of the jar when she's home for break :)
Cathie, your block is beautiful - I love all the purple! So I have a little tip when making wonky star blocks to ensure that the block comes out to the right size....the star points, when you press them, take up some extra space because of the two seams....I set my seam to be a tiny bit smaller than the scant 1/4"....this gives those seams some room and the block stays the right size!
Love that beautiful purple. Great job on this one!
Wow do I love the color and fabrics! Great idea using batiks just another quilt to my list...oh my!!
Cathie your block is beautiful! The fabrics you used are gorgeous!! If your block turns out to be too small for the front, I'll use it on the back. I love having elements of the front design carried over on the back.
Dtscrapper Thanks Paula. I will try your tip next time I make one. I am still using the "tape tip" you showed us when you were here. You need to come for a visit!!!
Skynme Thanks. Funny purple is not one of my 'go to' colors but that might change. That is one of the best thing about this group, it is helping try new things including colors.
HawkFan I am thrilled that you like it. I don't usually use baliks but thought you would like them. Will be putting both in the mail at lunch tomorrow.
Love it, Cathie :)
Caribousmom Thanks and I changed my settings on my machine and it works just perfect. Thank you
Well I LOVE purple and I love this block! Great job!
Skynme I actually went and did a little shopping because I wanted some batiks. I think it is a color that I am going to work with more often.
Such gorgeous purples-fantastic!
TOTALLY love these, Cathie :) xo
I love your blocks and from here they look awesome!
I love the fabrics you used in Wendy's blocks!
Very pretty fabric choices for this one. Great job!
Caribousmom I am so glad. I just love the colors you picked even if I don't usually care for orange,
Quilt455 I may not be able to figure out my taxes, but I do have color memory. Go figure! LOL
It's official, I now love orange. These blocks looks great, especially the orange one! Now if Caribousmom can get me to like brown then we should be canonizing her!
Caribousmom yes you do. And I think if you loved your taxes like you love color, you would figure them out too.
Terryt1955 I know what you mean. Orange has always been my least favorite color and more and more I am liking it.
Quilt455 Phew! Because I can never see myself coming around to liking brown. Hmmm, sounds like the words to a song!
Where is Conni when we need her???
Great blocks for May...really pretty
Quilt455 , your blocks are so pretty! I do love batiks and I must tell you it took me quite a while and a Round Robin where I had to use orange for others but now I do like to use orange.
Yummy blocks - love your fabric choices. Just the right amount of scrappiness. You have real talent for combining fabrics!
Very pretty! When I first saw the batik one I thought for sure it was Conniharns . Did you raid her stash?
Love the colors and fabrics in your May blocks!
Quilterinmotion I have never been one that liked batiks but I notice that I am buying more and more of them. And orange is actually growing on me. Thanks
Readerowl Thank you so much. I am so glad that it is scrappy enough. I struggle with scrappy. The part I like most about the whole process is picking the fabric. It usually takes me the longest since I change my mind a 100 times but I sure love the experience.
Terryt1955 Nope just because I didn't think about it. hehehe I am usually not a Batiks person but I love these and thought it would make a pretty block. Funny thing is more and more keep showing up in my shopping bag when I get home for the LQS.
Love the fish block!!
Love this block!! More awesome fabirc.
Love your bright church dash- the fish are so cute!
Such cute fabric on this one! You can never have too many adorable little fish.
Go Fish! Cute!!!!
Terryt1955 Thanks Miss Terry; I did realize that I do not have a lot of "boy" fabric in my stash so I guess I better go shopping.
fantastic churn dash block, Cathie!
Caribousmom There you are!!! I miss you. Thank you. It was a fun block to make but I need more boy fabric. Guess I will have to go shopping. hehehe Hugs to you and Paula,
Wonderful fabrics and great job on Paula's block!!
Love the pops of solid colors too! This is going to make Paula's quilt sing!
Sorry I'm just now posting...this is great! Love the fabrics you used. Paula is going to have a lovely quilt for sure.
Skynme thank you. I have seen some of her work and I know she will do wonders with these blocks.

Quilt455 great block Cathie...and good job doing Scrappy!! I love it.. Boy u have been busy!!
OMG what perfect fabric for this block...love it!
Gorgeous!!! Thank you so much!
True Thanks Mary. This was one of the easiest blocks I have ever made and I didn't have to use my seam ripper at all and my seams match....what more could a girl ask for.
Skynme I am so glad you like and hope it is what you were looking for. I can not wait to see it all put together. Will get it the mail tomorrow.
Love that center fabric - perfect for the theme!

I am so happy you like them and they are what you are looking for. They are on their way to u our home.
Is anyone else having issues with updating projects? I updated this to include Mary's block three times and for some reason it is not saving it. Making me crazy
Great blocks for Mary. I think yours is the first purple one
Love your petals, Cathie!
