Description

This is the first pillow I made for my baby's nursery. I had been hoarding Sarah Jane fabrics long before I became pregnant so it seemed fitting to use them for the baby. I always wanted to make a swoon quilt with them, but wasn't sure how it would translate to a baby quilt so I decided to start with a pillow. I really love the sea fabrics paired with the linen and I do think I'd like a full quilt one day, but think it may be too "mature" for a baby quilt and will do something a little more fun for that. But it was nice to play around with and as a single pillow, I think it will still work in the space. The back is made with more linen and scraps from the flying geese on the front. Finished at around 18"

Don't mind the dog hair. It's in everything...

Beautiful!! I love the fussy cut center - great way to showcase the theme. The back is wonderful too - simple but carries the theme through. Definitely stealing this idea!!

Congratulations! This pillow is very cute. I have been wanting to do a swoon quilt. You just gave me the idea of possibly starting with a pillow.

Jess

Drnic2c - I didn't think the Swoon block was very hard at all, just a lot of cutting and piecing so it did take some time.

Jess, I love Sarah Jane, and it's so perfect for baby. This pillow is really beautiful. And... congratulations on your little one! So exciting!

Amanda - I love her too. Unfortunately, pre-baby I really had no idea what to do with them but hoard them. Now that I'm having a girl, I'm so excited to USE them. And of course, make more room on the shelves for her Wee Wander collection which is my newest obsession.
