Description

Calculations:
11 squares wide = 11 x 4.5" = 49.5"
13 squares long = 13 x 4.5 = 58.5"
Plus borders = 2" + 4" = total size = 61.5" x 70"

Batting 240cm (96") wide = 1.6m

Or maybe I should make it bigger to (almost) fit our bed:
15 squares wide = 15 x 4.5" = 67.5"
15 squares long = 15 x 4.5" = 67.5"
Plus borders = 2" + 4" = total size = 79.5" x 79.5"

Update Oct 2014: I've completed and sewn together 11 x 13 rows. Not sure yet whether to make it 13 x 15. Hmmm....

Update May 2014: I work on this here and there. I've now done 9 strips - only 4 more to go before sewing the rows together.

Update 20 April: Have decided to alternate blue floral squares with plain white ones - 11 squares across, 13 down, with a couple of borders around the outside. I've cut out all the squares and sewn together 6 rows of squares so far. I'm keeping this simple and easy - a quilt that I can work on in a spare hour here and there.

Update 16 March: I started cutting out today - 12 5" squares from a selection of fat quarters. I'm not using some in my original selection, but will add in others. I think this will be a simple quilt, with 12 rows of 12 squares and a border (or two).

A collection of assorted pale blue florals that may become a simple, traditional-style quilt some day.
