Description

All the squares were pieced onto tissue paper before being sewn together. It was the first time I used this method and I loved the more exact results! I densely machine each half block with a nesting triangle pattern approximately 1/4" apart. The final quilt size is a medium lap throw, about 54" x 54". Hopefully when the weather is nicer I can get a full length shot outside!

Really beautiful...love colors. I have a string I have started this makes me want to get back to it.

Wow, this is really beautiful. The more I look at it the more amazing it is! I'd love to see the back sometime. BTW, welcome to Threadbias, I'm enjoying all your projects!

Love all those colours together and how you've arranged them. Looks gorgeous!

What cheery colors! They remind me of summer...

LolaSews

Thank you all!

Terrysim I posted some photos of the back. It's a bit "nesty" despite using my walking foot.

Thanks for the extra photos, LolaSews ! I really like your choice of a solid fabric so you can see the quilting pattern. Looks like you did some kind of star quilting in the center? Very cool!

LolaSews

Terrysim My original plan was to do stars in the yellow diamonds and a bubble pattern in the blue, but my FMQ skills are definitely not there yet so I went to straight lines after the stars. Maybe next time!

Well, sometimes things turn out for the best in spite of all our plans! I like how the concentric triangle quilting on the back accentuates the piecing design of the front.

I love the placement of string blocks. I have begun piecing similar string blocks with my left over fabric from other projects. I also love your quilting. You did a great job.
