16-patch quilts by Lara-giles
These are going to be snuggle quilts for 2 sisters. Their mom wanted them to look the same so they wouldn't fight over them :) This was my first 16-patch project. The blocks for the front took a long time to assemble, but oddly enough, the backings caused me more trouble and anxiety. Funny how that happens sometimes. One piece of flannel shrunk too small to use when I prewashed it, another piece I rejected because it was not the right color, the turquoise owl fabric was actually my 4th choice/attempt at these backings.
I chose to machine-stitch the bindings on these quilts to save time. I don't think I have done that since my early quilting days, except on small projects. I think if I did it again, I would reverse the process and stitch it down on the top, but I think it turned out OK.
I sure do LOVE those little Nursery-Versery mice!
