Description

I asked my friend if she'd been thinking of colors for the baby.  Since she didn't yet know if she's having a boy or a girl, she went gender neutral, and picked yellow.

Ugh.  Yellow.

I hunted far and wide to find a yellow print I actually liked -- probably because so much of the print isn't actually yellow! :)

The plan is to make a churn dash pattern (see horrible highlighter-pen drawing) in solids for the top, and then, when people ask "Hey, how do all those colors go together?", you can flip the quilt to the back and say, "Ta-da!"

Done and ready for the shower later this month!  I decided to try some machine quilting for the first time with this one -- all the straight lines were done on my machine, but the center circles I did by hand.

Love your fabric choices...cannot wait to see it "become"!

That Kaffe Fasset (?) print is great! I'm sure the quilt will be great- even if it has yellow! I can't wait to see this!

Very nice. I love that it is good for either a boy or girl. That seems so hard to do now. Great job.

I very much like the arrangement of colors and alternating figure and background colors. I think childrens' quilts are a great place to practice machine quilting--the kids don't care if we aren't perfect.

Robynn , Clairealex ,thanks! There are definitely one or two places in this quilt where a kid could practice not caring about me practicing machine quilting smiley
