Description

I had two mini charm packs of Scrumptious by Bonnie and Camille (thanks to some very nice quilting friends - you know who you are!!!) and decided to use them to make two somewhat matching pillows.

The first pillow is Don't Be Square from the Pillow Pop book (this is one of the pillows for May). I decided to practice some quilting using my walking foot and this tutorial since this pillow has LOTS of negative space and seemed perfect for some intricate quilting. I'm happy with how it came out, although there was definitely some distortion in the process. This pillow is 20" square.

The second pillow uses a pattern by Sherri McConnell and is part of her Simply Small Projects for this year. I really had fun making this one - it comes together quickly and I love the star pattern. The pattern is for a 16" pillow, but added on a turquoise border to make it 18" square.

I decided to match the backs for these pillows and used up some leftover mini charms to piece a strip across the top. The big pieces of turquoise fabric is something I bought on sale a long time ago: Flora by Lauren and Jessie Jung for Moda (it is a perfect match with the turquoise in Scrumptious!). Both pillows have hidden zippers.

I couldn't resist putting these both on my bed with some of my other Bonnie and Camille creations!!!

Love these pillows! The scrumptious fabric feels very much like summer to me. Beautiful job!

Readerowl LOL - it is called obsession!! The quilting was easier than I thought it would be - and fun!
Skynme I agree - it is really summery! I have a FQ stack of it and I figure there pillows will be the perfect compliment to a quilt someday (and as you can see, I made good use of that little mini, Erica!!! Thanks again!)
Carolmarie Thanks! That quilting was super fun to do!
