Pattern is a free download, Market Bag from allpeoplequilt.com. I bought this fabric a couple years ago. It's the Jive Cats line from Northcott, designed by my friend Kathy Weller. It just tickles me that I personally know the incredible creative woman who designed this fabric! :) I knew I wanted to make a tote, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Next month, my three closest friends are coming to NH for a girls' weekend, and I'm making tote bags for all of us. (And OMG I better get started, it's already a little less than 6 weeks away!) I decided to make my tote first to work out any bugs. :) (First bug, I lost my place in the instructions and cut the bottom curved corners of the front and back before quilting them together with the batting and muslin. Oops.) Anyway... I have a FQ bundle that includes a panel. I fussy cut the panel into 5" squares of the cats (and one mouse) - 12 total for those. I also cut 6 5" squares each out of the green and fuchsia leopard print FQs. I used the allover cats print for sides and bottom - but had to piece it together since it's a FQ and not a 42" 1/4-yd. Pink and green argyle print will be the handles. And since the lining requires pieces just a wee bit longer than a FQ, I pieced together two for each of the two pieces of the lining (zebra print with floral and fuchsia houndstooth with purses). In one afternoon, I cut and pieced the 5" squares into the front and back of the bag, cut and pieced the sides/bottom, cut the handles, pieced the lining (to be cut down later), and cut the muslin and batting pieces.
