Description

This is my version of "Sunburst" from Pillow Pop. It is one of the choices for June in the  Pillow Pop Sew Along here on Threadbias.  The fabrics are Moonlight Blooms from Connecting Threads, and Black Kona. The original had shadow quilting, mine is left plain. the back is envelope style with an insert.

I made the Dresden a few months ago...and then finished it up as a pillow recently.

It measures, 18 1/2 x 18 1/2.

True Of course...forgot that one, and just went back to see it again- so awesome...did you tag it as part of Pillow Pop? I have one piece of that gorgeous fabric you used on the back...had forgotten about that too LOL. I need to dig it our and use it in one of these Pillow Pop projects!

I like the purple and red fabrics, they go great with the black. A nice touch on the backing as well. Great job!

Love your take on the "Moon" portion of the burst. I agree, the black is very dramatic and striking. And it allows for the scrappy binding to really stand out! This will be my first dresden so can't wait!!

It is a very dramatic pillow and a perfect setting for scrappy binding. Wonderful!

Gardencrafter

I love your pillow...you've just inspired me to make this in batiks for my daughter!

Just realized that instead of using the template in back of the book you can use the EZ Dresden ruler and line up the 1" and the 7" with your fabric. I think everybody and the brother has the ruler, but many of us just put it in our notions box and forgot about it....
